1912.2 is a touchless audiovisual installation built for 3577 Studios in Pittsburgh. The system is composed of a 5 laser-beam input device that the visitor can play as a string instrument by blocking each light cord with their hands. Each cord triggers a note in an arpeggiator synthesizer controlled in Ableton Live with an input signal from an Arduino module connected to 5 different photoresistors located under the bottom surface of the instrument. The instrument is fixed hanging from a fake column built around the existing structure of the room.
